Everton manager Sean Dyche addressed concerns regarding Dwight McNeil’s injury following the winger’s substitution during the match against Fulham. Dyche, who has closely guided McNeil throughout his career, was cautious in his assessment of the situation.
“Not yet. I’m not sure yet, but he obviously had to come off,” Dyche said. “You know the delay… people were shouting at me, and I’m going, ‘I’ve got to see if he’s going to carry on,’ because he’s sort of like on that edge. Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious.”
The sight of the 24-year-old walking directly down the tunnel after his substitution raised concerns among fans and staff alike. While Dyche remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the injury, he expressed optimism.
In a silver lining for the team, Jarrad Branthwaite made his return from injury, stepping in for McNeil after the substitution. As the club awaits further information on McNeil’s condition, Dyche remains hopeful for a positive outcome.
