Sean Dyche Talks Everton’s Future Under New Ownership After Friedkin Group Takeover

0

Everton manager Sean Dyche addressed the media for the first time since the club’s takeover by the Friedkin Group was confirmed on Thursday morning.

The Toffees will begin their new chapter under the ownership of the Friedkin family with a crucial home match against Chelsea on Sunday at Goodison Park, following a period of improved form. On Friday morning, Dyche met with Marc Watts at Finch Farm, in what was described as an introductory meeting between the manager, his staff, and the new ownership group.

Despite the excitement surrounding the takeover, questions remain about Dyche’s future and whether he will remain at the helm as Everton looks to move forward under the new regime.

In his pre-match press conference on Friday, Dyche addressed those concerns, providing insight into his discussions with Watts, who is overseeing the transition.

“They’re fully supportive of me, the staff, the team going forwards,” Dyche said. “I haven’t really asked them for too much. He was really just asking questions about the feel of what I’ve learnt in my time and the overall feeling of the club. The thing which we can do going forward.”

Dyche went on to confirm that the new owners are committed to supporting him in his efforts on the pitch. “Mostly, on the pitch stuff, they’re supportive of that and he’s made it clear they’re supportive of that,” Dyche added.
