Graeme Bailey suggests that The Friedkin Group might look into increasing the seating capacity of Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, contingent upon the club’s Premier League status being secured.
As the Toffees prepare to bid farewell to Goodison Park at the end of the season and move to their new home, some concerns have been raised about the 52,888-seat capacity of the upcoming stadium. However, speaking to Everton.News on October 29, Bailey expressed confidence that this issue could be easily addressed.
“I think that it’s something that, once the Premier League confirm their takeover, I imagine that doing it early doors when they just get into the stadium would make sense,” he noted. “Once your Premier League status is confirmed, I wouldn’t be that shocked. And, as you know, once that’s confirmed, you can start selling the season tickets and stuff.”
Bailey added, “I imagine it’s been built to allow expansion easily, so I think it’s a pretty easy issue to remedy if you need to put more seats on. It wouldn’t surprise me. Once Premier League status is confirmed, I imagine that might become a thing.”
As Everton looks to transition into their new venue, the potential for expansion could play a crucial role in accommodating a growing fanbase and enhancing the club’s profile in the Premier League.
