Graeme Bailey suggests that Everton is unlikely to pursue a permanent transfer for Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison next summer if manager Sean Dyche leaves the club.
In an interview with LeedsUnited.News on October 29, Bailey pointed out that Harrison’s underwhelming performances this season could jeopardize his chances of making a permanent move to Merseyside, especially in light of potential managerial changes.
“Technically, Jack Harrison’s due back [at Leeds], and we’ll see what happens. That will be a little bit of a worry for Leeds, as I think we know that even if Dyche finishes the season, he won’t be there next season,” Bailey said.
He raised concerns about the future of Harrison, stating, “So will whoever comes in at Everton want Harrison? That might be a bit of a concern for Leeds.”
Bailey emphasized that while Harrison is a talented player, the current situation does not bode well for a permanent transfer: “It’s not that he’s not a good player, but they were banking on that and hoping that Everton were scratching around to make that permanent and bring in another loan signing in January, but it probably doesn’t look like that’s going to happen now.”
As the season progresses, the futures of both Harrison and Dyche remain uncertain, adding further complexity to the transfer landscape for both Everton and Leeds.
