Everton striker Armando Broja has resumed first-team training and is expected to make a comeback through the club’s Under-21 squad in the coming weeks, according to a report by the Liverpool Echo on 20 November.
The 23-year-old Albanian forward, on loan from Chelsea, has been sidelined by an Achilles injury since joining the Toffees in the summer. Broja is yet to make a competitive appearance for Everton, with his return anticipated to address the club’s persistent struggles in front of goal.
Everton’s offensive woes have been well-documented, with the club failing to find a consistent goalscorer since Romelu Lukaku netted over 20 league goals in the 2016/17 season. Last season, Abdoulaye Doucouré and Dominic Calvert-Lewin shared the club’s Premier League top-scorer honors with just seven goals each—a stark indicator of the team’s attacking frailties.
The lack of planning in bolstering the forward line has come under scrutiny, particularly given Broja’s injury issues and Calvert-Lewin entering the final year of his contract. Whether the 27-year-old will commit his future to Goodison Park remains uncertain.
Everton will hope Broja’s impending return can provide the firepower needed to improve their fortunes in front of goal as the season progresses.
