James Maddison Reveals Richarlison’s Surprising Role in Spurs Squad

Richarlison showed improvement last season, scoring 11 goals in 28 Premier League appearances. Yet, his performances continue to divide opinions among Spurs fans.

Despite this, teammate James Maddison has highlighted the Brazilian’s valuable role within Ange Postecoglou’s squad, particularly off the pitch.

“Yeah, great group. We’ve got a good balance of British lads, and we’ve also got a big South American group, and they are all hilarious,” Maddison shared, speaking to Spurs Web. “Someone like Richarlison, who doesn’t speak the language brilliantly but is absolutely hilarious in the group chat, saying English phrases he’s learnt that just make no sense at any time, then he will just throw it in and make you think that was random – he’s funny.”

While Richarlison’s humor and camaraderie are appreciated, injuries continue to trouble the 27-year-old. This season, he has managed just one goal in seven appearances across all competitions.
