Tottenham Hotspur, one of the most active Premier League clubs during the summer transfer window, may not be finished with their squad overhaul. Despite heavy investment, including marquee signings such as Dominic Solanke, Archie Gray, and Wilson Odobert, Spurs still find themselves mid-table in the league, prompting discussions about potential January reinforcements.
Sitting 10th in the Premier League, Tottenham’s need for improvement is clear. According to football journalist Alasdair Gold, manager Ange Postecoglou is particularly keen on adding a creative midfielder to his squad, although a January move for such a player might be challenging.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Gold provided insight into Spurs’ transfer ambitions. “I’m sure Postecoglou would love to have another creative midfielder,” he explained. “But it would have to be someone perfect for that role or a versatile player who can play various roles. Otherwise, I imagine that’s more of a position for the summer.”
Gold also highlighted the current depth in Tottenham’s midfield. “James Maddison, Kulusevski, Bergvall, and Sarr flesh out the rest of the midfielder options,” he noted, emphasizing that any addition would need to complement the existing squad.
