Tottenham Hotspur will be without key players Timo Werner and Mikey Moore for their Europa League fixture against Galatasaray on Thursday evening. Manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed the absences and provided updates on several other injured players during a press conference in Istanbul.
Tottenham has dealt with a series of injury setbacks in recent weeks. In last Sunday’s 4-1 victory over Aston Villa, Cristian Romero and Richarlison left the field with injuries, raising concerns about their availability for upcoming matches. Additionally, Micky van de Ven remains sidelined due to a hamstring strain, with his return not expected until after the international break. Wilson Odobert is also facing more time out due to a setback following his recent hamstring recovery.
Providing clarity on the team’s fitness challenges, Postecoglou addressed the situation with Richarlison and Romero: “Yeah, so from the weekend, obviously Richy unfortunately injured his hamstring. I’m still getting the final information, but I think he’ll be out for a while,” Postecoglou shared with football.london. “Romero, I think, is nothing too serious, hopefully. So there’s still a chance for the weekend.”
Discussing Werner and Moore’s absences, Postecoglou added, “Timo Werner has been carrying a bit of a groin complaint, which is still there, so he didn’t travel, and Mikey Moore picked up a virus yesterday, so we’ve left him at home as well. I think everyone else who’s fit and eligible is here.”
