Everton manager Sean Dyche has disclosed that he’s already had discussions with Dominic Calvert-Lewin regarding the striker’s consistency and performance levels this season. Despite starting in all nine of Everton’s Premier League games, Calvert-Lewin has managed just two goals so far.
Speaking to the media, as reported by The Mirror on October 31, Dyche provided insight into the ongoing efforts to get Calvert-Lewin back to his best. “He’s working hard at his game and finding that streak which brought him goals previously,” Dyche explained. “He hasn’t scored regularly for a while, and getting back in that zone can come.”
Dyche acknowledged that one goal could be the catalyst Calvert-Lewin needs to regain his confidence. “We speak about it endlessly as managers; finding a goal can get it started when being in the right area hits you and goes in,” he added.
The Everton boss is optimistic that if Calvert-Lewin stays focused on his performance, the goals will eventually follow. “I’ve spoken to him about performances, the level of consistency, and trying to find it. Goals will come if you keep making sure you’re playing well and running hard,” Dyche said confidently.
