Sergio Perez’s father recently took to social media to clarify remarks that some interpreted as suggesting his son might soon retire from Formula 1. The original post, which referenced the “end of the movie” and called the race Perez’s “last,” sparked rumors of an imminent exit for the Mexican driver.

Speculation grew further when F1 commentator Martin Brundle shared his belief that Perez had potentially driven his final Mexican Grand Prix with Red Bull, citing the team’s roster of young talent eager for promotion. Brundle’s comments during the weekend added fuel to the rumors circulating around Perez’s future.

However, Perez Sr. quickly moved to address fans, urging them not to “get confused” about his son’s position in the sport. In a subsequent post, he expressed confidence in seeing a Mexican driver on the F1 grid for the foreseeable future. “Don’t get confused, Mexico,” he wrote. “We will have a Mexican pilot in Formula 1 for many more years. Since he was a child, they wanted to let him out badly, but thanks to that, they’ve made him stronger.”

With ongoing speculation surrounding Perez’s future at Red Bull, the response from Perez’s father aims to reassure fans of the driver’s resilience and continued presence in F1.
