Beşiktaş are reportedly eyeing Leeds United defender Junior Firpo as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the January transfer window. The Turkish Super Lig side is seeking to bolster their defense with a left-sided player and has set its sights on the Dominican Republic international.
According to Turkish outlet Fotospor, Beşiktaş is targeting Firpo to address ongoing issues at left-back. The club has been linked with several potential left-back signings in recent weeks as they work to enhance their roster for the new year.
Beşiktaş vice president Hüseyin Yücel is believed to be particularly interested in Firpo, with sources claiming he has been impressed by the 27-year-old’s performances. The move comes amid growing pressure on current left-back Artur Masuaku, whose underwhelming displays have prompted the club to seek a replacement.
Firpo, who has made 16 appearances for Leeds this season, is contracted to the Championship club until June 2025. Losing the defender in January would be a significant setback for Leeds United manager Daniel Farke, who would face the challenge of replacing him midway through the season.
