Leeds United Eyeing Permanent Exit Deal for Jack Harrison Amid Everton Uncertainty

0

Leeds United are eager to finalize a permanent deal for Jack Harrison with Everton ahead of the January transfer window, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.

Harrison, 28, initially impressed during a loan spell with the Toffees last season, earning a return to the Premier League club for the current campaign. However, his impact this season has been limited, with the winger starting in just half the matches he has played for a struggling Everton side.

Bailey believes Leeds are motivated to offload Harrison permanently, but negotiations could prove tricky. Speaking to LeedsUnited.News, Bailey explained:

“I think Leeds would like him to go permanently. They’re hoping Everton, having already used their two domestic loan slots, might push for a permanent deal. If Everton need to free up a loan spot, Leeds could leverage that to finalize the move.”

Harrison is reportedly open to the idea of staying at Everton, but the club’s uncertain managerial situation complicates matters. Bailey added:

“Harrison isn’t desperate to return to Leeds, but Everton are set to change managers. They might hold off on making any permanent decisions until the summer, allowing the new manager to build their squad.

“Harrison hasn’t started in their last four games, and with Lindstrøm performing well, it doesn’t look promising for Harrison’s playing time. Leeds might save on wages, but it’s possible we could see him back in white next season.”

The situation is further clouded by the impending takeover at Everton, which could shift the club’s focus towards high-profile signings. Bailey noted:

“Once the takeover is rubber-stamped, Everton might aim for bigger names. No disrespect to Harrison, but that’s the reality they could be moving towards.”

With Leeds keen to resolve Harrison’s future and Everton juggling managerial and squad uncertainties, the coming weeks could prove decisive for the winger’s career.
