Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson has credited the unwavering support of the club’s fans for helping him settle back in at Elland Road following his return from a loan spell in Germany. The U.S. international rejoined Leeds United this summer after spending a year with Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.
In an interview with Golazo America on November 2, Aaronson shared how the initial reception from Leeds fans was mixed but has since improved significantly, making his return to West Yorkshire smoother.
Reflecting on his early struggles, Aaronson admitted, “It was tough at first coming back to Leeds. I understand the feelings they had. It was tough; things happen, and that’s football at the end of the day.”
However, he went on to express gratitude for the recent warmth and encouragement he has felt from supporters. “They’ve gotten on my shoulders, and they’ve been pushing me. I can’t thank them enough for that because it’s been really good for me coming back. I’ve been pushing and putting in a lot of work, and I think they see that.”
Aaronson’s return has not been without challenges, but the support of the Leeds faithful appears to have played a pivotal role in helping him feel at home once again.
