Football legend Alan Shearer has expressed serious concerns over West Ham United’s inconsistent performances this season, particularly after their 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday. The defeat came just a week after the Hammers’ impressive 2-1 victory over Manchester United, which had raised hopes among fans that the club could be turning a corner.
Discussing West Ham’s recent form on The Rest is Football podcast on November 4, Shearer didn’t hold back in his assessment of the team’s ongoing struggles.
“I would be really worried if I was a West Ham fan,” Shearer admitted. “It doesn’t look well there, does it, at West Ham? I mean, they were fortunate last week to beat Manchester United.”
West Ham’s latest defeat leaves them 14th in the Premier League, a position far below expectations for a squad that has shown flashes of potential this season. The club’s apparent regression to inconsistent form, particularly after such a strong showing against Manchester United, has left fans frustrated and analysts like Shearer skeptical about their prospects moving forward.
