Newcastle Eye Bryan Mbeumo in Potential Swap Deal Involving Callum Wilson

Newcastle United are reportedly plotting a bold move to sign Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo in the January transfer window, with striker Callum Wilson potentially included as part of the deal.

According to The Sun, manager Eddie Howe is a keen admirer of the Cameroonian international, who has been in scintillating form this season, scoring eight goals in Brentford’s first 11 Premier League matches. Mbeumo is said to be Newcastle’s top target as the club looks to strengthen its right flank.

The report suggests Newcastle could offer Wilson as a makeweight in the deal. While Wilson remains a valuable player, his injury record, age, and the fact that his contract expires in the summer may limit his ability to significantly reduce Mbeumo’s £50 million valuation.

Despite the potential offer, securing Mbeumo’s services could prove challenging. Liverpool are also reportedly monitoring the 25-year-old as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah, who has been linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia if he does not extend his contract at Anfield.

With Mbeumo attracting interest from top clubs and Brentford likely to demand a high price, Newcastle may face stiff competition to land the winger in what promises to be an intriguing January transfer window.
