Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is expected to prioritize strengthening his forward line in the upcoming January transfer window, according to Dom Howson, a journalist with LeedsLive. The Whites, currently third in the Championship, are looking to enhance their attacking options after a summer that saw limited success in securing new firepower.
Despite being linked with a series of high-profile attackers over the summer, Leeds was unable to bring a prominent name to Elland Road. This came in the wake of losing forward Georginio Rutter and winger Crysencio Summerville, which left the squad with limited options in attack.
Though Leeds did secure wingers Largie Ramazani and Manor Solomon, Farke has faced challenges with both players, who have spent periods sidelined due to injuries. As a result, Howson believes that reinforcing the attack has become a priority for Farke as the club looks to solidify its promotion bid.
“Signing a new forward is likely to be at the top of Daniel Farke’s shopping list heading into the January transfer window,” Howson wrote on Thursday, 13 November. “Leeds United, currently third in the Championship, were thwarted in their attempts to bring in a No 10 last summer.”
