Peter Crouch has become the latest high-profile pundit to forecast a challenging season for West Ham United.
Entering the 2025/26 Premier League campaign, the Hammers have little to inspire optimism after a lacklustre season in 2024/25, where they finished 14th under Graham Potter’s guidance.
Despite efforts in the transfer market, the summer business at the London Stadium has failed to convince many that the team will improve. This sense of uncertainty is echoed in current discussions about the club’s prospects.
Speaking on TNT Sports’ Premier League Preview (8 August), the former Tottenham striker shared his concerns, stating that West Ham could be in for another difficult year.
“There are teams that have struggled; they’ve lost players,” said Crouch. “Look at West Ham, I think Wolves can get dragged in. Have Everton strengthened enough? How will they fare in their new stadium?
“I do think there are teams that, if you are those promoted teams, you are looking at if you finish above them, you’ll stay up. So, there is hope for them.”
Crouch’s comments suggest that West Ham’s survival could be challenged, with newly promoted sides potentially targeting them for a place in the Premier League next season.
