Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou is reportedly facing unrest among his senior players, with claims of a “dressing room bust-up” involving at least four key squad members.
Appointed ahead of the 2023/24 season, Postecoglou quickly became a fan favorite, revitalizing Tottenham’s style of play and earning widespread praise. However, the club’s campaign ended in disappointment, as Spurs narrowly missed out on a Champions League spot, finishing fifth and two points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.
With heightened expectations this season, including a push for a top-four finish and potential silverware, Tottenham have struggled for consistency. After 11 Premier League matches, they sit 10th with five wins, a draw, and four losses—three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
A report from Football Insider suggests that tensions have boiled over in the dressing room. Postecoglou is said to have clashed with several senior players, including Italy internationals Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario, as well as former Serie A stars Rodrigo Bentancur and Cristian Romero.
‘Italy internationals Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario – as well as ex-Serie A stars Rodrigo Bentancur and Cristian Romero – are believed to have been among those who have been upset by Postecoglou.
‘Sources say his straight talking in public and behind the scenes has had a negative reaction in the dressing room and has sewn the discord at the heart of the team’s wild swings in form.’
