West Ham United’s Fan Advisory Board (FAB) met with the club on Thursday evening, with vice-chairman Karren Brady in attendance, as tensions continue to escalate between supporters and the board.
In late August, the FAB issued a letter of no confidence in the club’s leadership. Since then, thousands of fans have joined a series of protests, including demonstrations before the Premier League match against Crystal Palace in September and a boycott of last Monday’s fixture against Brentford. Supporters are also planning a sit-in protest during the next home game against Newcastle United, followed by further action when Burnley visit.
At the September meeting, the FAB submitted seven key questions to the board, with this latest session designed to secure concrete answers. The questions span issues of governance, financial stability, fan relations and long-term vision.
The questions raised by the FAB were as follows:
Leadership & Governance
When will the club move to a professional governance model (CEO + Director of Football with autonomy)?
Financial Strategy & PSR Failures
What credible financial strategy will prevent further PSR breaches and enable consistent squad investment?
Commercial & Stadium Strategy
How will the club balance revenue generation with fan experience, inclusion, and equality?
Heritage & Culture
Where is our heritage and why has it not been displayed seven years since the written commitment by the board was made?
Strategic Vision
What is the five-year vision for West Ham United on and off the pitch?
Fan Relations & Trust
What structural changes will ensure genuine, timely and meaningful supporter engagement in future decision-making?
Squad Matters
What is the long-term footballing vision for recruitment, youth development, and European competitiveness?
The meeting is seen by many fans as a critical moment for the club’s hierarchy to demonstrate a willingness to engage transparently with supporters at a time of significant discontent.
