West Ham United are exploring the possibility of signing Fiorentina striker Moise Kean ahead of the January transfer window, according to Italian media reports.
Kean has revived his career since joining Fiorentina in 2024, scoring 28 goals in 62 appearances and establishing himself as one of the club’s key players. His form has stood in contrast to Fiorentina’s struggles, with the club currently bottom of Serie A and eight points from safety.
Reports in Quotidiano Sportivo suggest tensions behind the scenes, including dressing-room disputes, as pressure mounts during the relegation battle. Amid that backdrop, West Ham are said to be monitoring Kean’s situation, with the 25-year-old emerging as a potential target for head coach Nuno Espírito Santo.
Former Italy striker Christian Vieri recently praised Kean’s qualities, describing him as a “phenomenal centre forward” who could play a leading role for the national team alongside Mateo Retegui.
Despite the speculation, Fiorentina have made clear they are reluctant to sanction any January departures. Manager Paolo Vanoli and sporting director Daniele Goretti have both stressed their desire to keep key players, with Vanoli reportedly telling his squad: “No one is leaving here; if we go down, we all go down together.”
Kean is understood to be regarded as untouchable by Fiorentina, alongside full-back Fortini, leaving West Ham facing a significant challenge if they are to tempt the striker back to the Premier League, where previous spells brought mixed success.
