Tottenham Hotspur’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, may allow promising talent Archie Gray to leave the club on loan in January, following a limited number of appearances this season. The 18-year-old midfielder has made just three starts, contributing only 33 minutes of Premier League action thus far.
Reports from Spanish outlet Mucho Deporte indicate that Sevilla is interested in acquiring Gray on a six-month loan. The talented midfielder joined Tottenham in the summer for a reported £40 million after an impressive breakthrough season at Leeds United in the Championship. However, with limited opportunities to showcase his skills at Spurs, a loan spell could provide the regular first-team football Gray needs for his development.
Gray has seen more action in European competitions, starting both of Tottenham’s Europa League matches and playing in their League Cup victory over Coventry.
Sevilla’s sporting director, Victor Orta, formerly of Leeds United, is keen on reuniting with Gray, who he would have closely monitored during his rise at Leeds.
