Former England striker Darren Bent has confidently predicted that Everton will remain in the Premier League this season, praising manager Sean Dyche’s leadership and training style as the driving force behind their resilience.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Bent revealed insights from a recent conversation with Everton veteran Ashley Young. Reflecting on Dyche’s meticulous coaching methods, Bent said, “There is no way that Everton are going down.”
Bent explained that he initially had concerns for Everton’s Premier League status after their rocky start this season. “I thought at the start of the season that they might wobble a little bit because they got off to a tricky start,” he said. However, he’s since been reassured by Young’s perspective on Dyche’s approach.
Sharing more of his conversation with Young, Bent emphasized Dyche’s strategic focus and preparation, saying, “I was with Youngy a couple of weeks ago, Ashley Young, and he was saying about [Dyche’s] attention to detail…from the start of the week to the end of the week, you know exactly what is happening and you know exactly how he wants you to play.”
For Bent, this clarity and structure from Dyche are key to Everton’s stability. “They are not going down,” Bent concluded firmly. “There is no way they are going down.”
